When browsing on google, I came across this image. I really like the image and think it fits in and works so well as far as this play brief is concerned. Therefore, I will go and try out something like this of my own to create a similar image.

Layering and scanning in writing on Photoshop

I got the origional image of the tree and stars off google, and it made me think of a dreamy night scene, and as if its in another world. So I got an image of an Avatar eye, emphasising the idea of it being from another world and blended it into the origional image. I then wrote the word 'dream' on some paper and then scanned it into Photoshop. I then changed the colour of the text and did the same as I did as I did with the Avatar; layered it into the scene. I'm really pleased with the look of the eye in the top hand corner of the image, as I think its blended in really well with matching colours and it really finishes it off. However, I dont think the writing has turned out all that well, as its quite blocked, and it hasnt blended very well. But this projects all about experimenting, and from doing this I have now started to scan in text to give a different look to my images.

Playing with brushes

I got this origional image from Perou's website, and I thought its a really strong image and could be made better once played with on Photoshop. I slightly darkened the image using levels and curves as I thought it would look better darker. I then used some star brushes from photoshop, as I thought it would be a good idea to make the scene look like a sky, even though its obviously the sea. I then added some mermaid brushes onto the models skin to create a look suggesting the girls dissolving into the water, which I think works really well. How I've edited this image, you can look at it in different ways. It could be portrayed as a scene in the sky, due to the stars and the sun above the water, or it could remain being portrayed in the sea, just with tools that have finished off the image really well.

Final traced drawing

This is what my final traced drawing looks like after I've scanned it into photoshop and played around with colour and added certian brushes in order to create my desired look to the drawing. I used red and black for the stripes because I think they are both strong, bold colours showing strength and power. I also blended them together in a way that made it look more professional rather than just putting plain blocks of black and red onto the scanned draweing. I then used a animal print brush from photoshop and gave the guy a zebra print body. I did this to emphasise my idea of power and strength through the colours.

My first trace for drawing

This was the image I chose for my tracing image to play with on photoshop. I took the image from Rankins website as I like his portraiture shots. I also chose this particlar image because the parts of the image I would focus on when adding texture and colour to on photoshop, are thick and blocks, making it easier for me to do my job on photoshop, whereas if the origional image had detailed patterns on it, it would make it hard work for me to trace and to put my mark onto it. Also, as this is my first go at doing something like this, I thought it would be best to keep it simple and effective at the same time, and as I do more, I can use more detailed images.

Banksy

These images from Banksy's website of his work on the streets and exhibitions. Looking at these particular images will help to inspire me with this play project, when adding writing to images through the scanner for example. Banksy will play a big part in helping me when doing this as I like the way he adds text to his work, therefore I will think hoiw he does it and portrays the text, and transfer that into my own work.

Jason Christopher

These images by Jason Christopher are just plain fashion shots, however, in these particular images they have the same feel as the other photographers in this brief, as the way the subjects dress' and hair are made to flow and look dramatic, it reminds me of explosions and high wind. Therefore I've added Christopher to my blog as I'm going to play around with these particular shots on photoshop to emphasis my idea of explosions with an explosion brush tool.

Patrick Morgan

I took these two images from Patrick Morgans website, and chose to add them to my blog as I like how hes scanned drawn images into photoshop and then used brush tools over the top of them to create an image that looks like a drawing. I hope to achieve work like this through this brief, as I think its good to do things differently, and keep your work fresh, rather than sticking to one kind of technique and to try new things to see what I prefer working like.

Jack Daw

I really like Jack Daws images as they're full od colour and they have quite a pop arty feel to them. They also look very contempoary, appealing to the younger generation, which I like. They are also made from normal photos of people, which have been put onto photoshop and are then layered into differet brush tools. This is the kind of thing I hope to produce during this brief, therefore Daw's work will be inspiring me throughout.
For this image here, I used three images, (Bob Marley, peace sign, the brick background, and the buddah), from Google. I also used one of my own images or an ornament as well. I put all these images onto photoshop seperatly. I then added each image after eachother onto the bottom layer, which in this case was the brick wall. once layered onto the base, I blended the images in to give the effect that its one image. I chose all my images so that they were all linked to the main subject of the image, (Bob Marley), so that it made sense. Overall I'm really pleased with the image I have produced as I feel it looks like an actual image, and I think I've blended all images together well.
I took this image from Jason Christophers website, of a plain image of a model. The way the dress flows up towards the sky, giving the effect of wind, makes me think of explosions. Therefore I downloaded an explosion brush tool to emphasise this idea of mine. I used the same colour for the brush and tried my best to put across my idea of an explosion of colour with the model. Im not 100% sure if I'm happy with it, as it looks a bit too heavy for me. However, its all practise in gaining skill and learning how to perfect my images in this brief.

Playing with brushes

This is one of the images I previously put on my blog from Vault 49, and I put it onto photoshop and downloaded an oil spill brush and added it to the image. By doing this, I have emphasised the idea of the skull of being old, dirty and ruined. I used two tones consisting of black and dark brown to match the skulls tone. I feel this has really finished the image off and given it the final ingrediant to producing the final image.

Playing with brushes

For this image that I took in a previous brief, as one of the main focus' of the picture is the subjects hair, I downloaded a brush tool for hair and added them to the foreground in order to increase the amount of hair, creating the look of the subjects face to be almost buried amungst all this hair, only allowing you to see her eyes. I think the image looks successful as I like the intensity of it and the strongness of the hair that I added, however it was very tricky achieving the correct colour for the hair in order for it to blend in and for it to look right and realistic next to the image.

Playing with layers

For this image, I opened two images from a previous project and blended them together on photoshop. This is quite a simple example of what you can do with the blend tool, but its my first attempt so I am aiming to gain more skill and confidence with it as I progress through this brief.
